What is neurodiversity?

Neurodiversity is the term used to describe the wide range of ways people process information and experience the world. It includes everyone, recognising that each person thinks, learns, communicates, and interacts differently. Because these differences can vary greatly, it’s important to understand everyone’s unique needs. 

To assist you with supporting and encouraging all team members to reach their full potential, we invite you to attend our Neurodiversity in The Workplace Workshop for Managers.  This session will ensure you fully understand the reasonable steps that we should be taking as an organisation to ensure policies, practises and culture do not disadvantage neurodivergent employees and allow them to feel safe and supported when choosing to disclose their neurodiversity. Areas that will be covered are:

• An introduction to neurodiversity and the use of respectful and inclusive language
• A deeper look at key neurodivergent conditions such as ADHD, Autism and Dyslexia
• An exploration of lived experiences and how neurodivergence may influence individuals in workplace environments
• Practical approaches for building a supportive and inclusive working culture
• Advice on identifying and implementing appropriate reasonable adjustments
• Tools and methods to help managers effectively support neurodivergent team members.

The course offers a clear, practical understanding of neurodiversity and its impact within the workplace. By exploring both the strengths and challenges associated with different neurodivergent traits we can work collectively towards creating an environment where every individual can thrive.  Participants will develop the knowledge, confidence, and skills needed to support neurodivergent colleagues effectively while contributing to a more inclusive, empathetic, and productive workplace culture that embraces a wide range of thinking and learning styles that can bring real strength and value to an all-inclusive workplace.
